Rainshire Academy


Rainshire Academy is a private school for both girls and boys.
The school has a large campus with such buildings as Davies Hall,
Cayce Astrological Dome, and 16 seperate dormitories for the students.

The academy specializes in general education studies, with focuses on life skills and preparing students for entering higher education facilities.
Sports are a minor focus, but physical activities are encouraged.
Magical studies are minor and elective

Attendance
Students may send in an application starting on their ninth birthday.
Students may begin their enrollment in the academy on the first day of the semester that follows their tenth birthday.
The Academy caters to students from the ages of 10 to the age of 20.
Age 10-11=The student is a first year,
Age 11-12=The student is a second year,
and so on, until the 8th year is reached.
At the end of the 8th year, the student will graduate and move on.
Students may repeat a year, with a maximum of 2 repeats per school career.
If a student has not graduated by their 21st birthday, they are expelled.

Students of all creed and colour are allowed to attend the academy.
Half-humans are also allowed to attend the academy.
(Example: Arista, who is a half-fox girl)

Tuition

Tuition costs a flat fee of $5200 per semester, providing the student is a legal resident of the country in which the academy takes place.
If a student has come from a foreign country in order to attend the academy, the tuition is increased to $7700 per semester.

The costs cover:
all books and course materials
a furnished room in the proper dormitory
a meal card good for 25 meals a week from the campus cafeteria
(which has 5 different restaurant vendors)
2 standard uniforms
a $200 credit for use in the school supply store.

Scholarships are available to returning students who have successfully graduated two consecutive semesters with at least a 91% class average.

Dormitories

The dorms are set up according to gender and class year.
The buildings are 6 stories tall with an underground basement.
The basement is used as a shelter during extreme weather emergencies.
There are 5 floors used for residence, with 8 rooms per floor.
Up to 3 students may live in each room.
Up to 100 students may live in each building.
Each floor has 2 bathrooms, with 2 stalls and 3 sinks each.
The bottom floor contains a kitchen, showers, laundry room, mail boxes,
common area, and a large bulletin board for school announcements.

Students may live off campus if they get the housing approved by the dean.
The academy encourages the students to use the dorms.

Academia

Semesters start on the first of December and the first of May.
Each semester lasts fifteen weeks with one week of finals at the end.
Students must enroll in at least 2 general education courses per semester.
Students may enroll in up to 4 general education courses per semester.
Students must enroll in at least 1 physical education course per semester.
Students may enroll in up to 3 physical education courses per semester.
Students are encouraged to enroll in up to 4 elective courses per semester.

Students must enroll in a minimum of 6 courses per semester.
Students may take up to 8 courses per semester.

Students must successfully complete six courses per school semester in order to advance to the next year.

Extra Curricular activities

There are almost 200 clubs and student organizations active on campus.
The include student government, religious organizations, academic clubs, sports, community service organizations, and special interest groups.

Dress Code

Hair
Boys
Boys are allowed to grow their hair long or style it in any way they choose. During formal functions and events, the hair must be tied back in a pony tail.
Girls
Girls are allowed to grow their hair long or style it in any way they choose. During formal functions and events, the hair must be styled in an updo or tied back in a pony tail.

Uniform
Girls and boys must wear their uniforms during academic classes.
Jewelry is allowed to be worn with the uniform.
Students are allowed to make small, individual adjustments to their uniforms.
This can include patches, buttons, belts, or suspenders.
Uniforms take their design basis from both seifuku and parochial school uniforms.

Black shoes
Navy blue pleated skirt (knee length)

Boys Summer uniform
White button up shirt with short sleeves
Blue tie
Black shoes
Navy blue shorts

Girls Spring and Fall uniform
White button up shirt with long sleeves
Blue tie (Usually a sailor style collar)
Black shoes
Navy blue pleated skirt (knee length)

Optional: Navy blue sweater or athletic jacket

Boys Spring and Fall uniform
White button up shirt with long sleeves
Blue tie (Usually a sailor style collar)
Black shoes
Navy blue pants
Optional: Navy blue sweater or athletic jacket

Girls Winter uniform
White button up shirt with long sleeves
Blue tie (Usually a sailor style collar)
Black shoes
Navy blue pleated skirt (ankle length)

Optional: Navy blue sweater or athletic jacket

Boys Winter uniform
White button up shirt with long sleeves
Blue tie (Usually a sailor style collar)
Black shoes
Navy blue pants
Optional: Navy blue sweater or athletic jacket

Some of the pieces of the uniform are not strictly regulated.
The colour and type of socks worn with the uniform are up to the student.
The type of footwear is up to the student, but must be black.
Boots, sandals, and sneakers are all allowed.
The type of neck tie or collar is also up to the students.
In place of a neck tie or collar, a student may choose to wear instead:
a neckerchief, an ascot, a bolo tie, a bow tie, or a thin scarf.
